Still Learning Stuff

I’m a senior software engineer at a newspaper here in Washington, DC. I into many little things and very curious about the world. I am not a traditional programmer (I don’t have a computer science degree). Instead my programming journey started in 2010 while working at a library on Capital Hill. I found many late nights tinkering in php, html, css and javascript. Somehow I got decent enough at it to pay the bills.

I’m not particularly very good at programming, coding or designing. I find joy in creating stuff, building things, and problem-solving.

The opinions I share are purely my own; they don’t reflect my employer’s stance or influence.

You might come across an awkward sentence or a typo as you delve into my writings — my up-bringing had three languages in my home at any given time, and I believe there’s something to be said for authenticity over formal writing. I believe what Nilay Patel says, “Blogging is back, baby”.

Mahalo.
